I have very fond memories of Ellen when we were both working for the NDP caucus. Constantly on the front lines by being the principal person at reception, she was the perfect ambassador for the party. She was always warm and friendly and genuinely interested in others. My condolences to the family.

I worked with Ellen many years ago at the NDP caucus . She was so gracious and kind to everyone, and did a demanding job without ever seeming to lose her composure or her sense of humour. I was really pleased to reconnect with her on Facebook . My condolences to all her close friends and family. Her memory is a treasure.

I first met Ellen when I started working at Caucus November 1969. She had just started working there herself a month or so before that - but it seemed like she had been there forever. She showed me where to find things, she introduced me to staff and Members. She was always smiling and helpful. That willingness to help never changed in spite of the difficult job she did trying to keep track of where we all were. I cannot believe it has been over 50 years since she first said "hello I'm Ellen, can I help?" After she retired, we kept in touch. I will miss our regular e-mails, our phone calls, and our chats remembering the multitude of people who have gone through Caucus. Ellen was our anchor and the centre of our daily lives at Caucus. My condolences to her daughters losing their mother and to her brothers losing their sister.

I first met Ellen in 1975 when she was our beautiful, shining receptionist and switchboard operator at the NDP caucus. Because of our love for all things Motown, we became fast friends. That friendship has lasted 47 years through all our ups and downs, trips to Florida, the Finger Lakes, shopping trips to Buffalo and dancing in her basement. I could have never asked for a more caring, funny, beautiful and loyal friend. I will miss you dearly. Love to Stacey and Shawna. Susan

Ellen was the kind, gentle, competent, friendly person who callers first met when they phoned the NDP caucus. I don't think I ever saw Ellen any other way. She always knew who was in, who out, who away for a day, or a week. She knew where everything was. She was always unflappable. She was the one who everyone admired. I'm sorry I didn't keep telling you that, Ellen, though I think you knew how much you were appreciated. I know she will be greatly missed, and I send condolences to the family. Val
