We are sometimes fortunate when someone crosses our path and our lives change for the better. Jame was that person. His humour, thoughtfulness, charater, and faith have had such a great influence on my life and this family. I will miss him but never forget his life spirit that meant so much to so many.

Milly, in every conversation we have had, you always mentioned James :). It showed the deep love you have for him and your family. You have many memories and although James will not be right beside you physically, he will be inside your heart, mind and spirit. You will always know he is right there with you. I am sorry for the pain that this loss brings to you and your family. Hugs for you.

I was in James' grade 5 class back in 1997-98. He was always trying to come up with great projects for us, on a shoestring budget. How he would get his guitar out and sing with us for music. The stories he would make up, starring his students. Some of this stuff I only came to really appreciate as I got older. I am really grateful I had the opportunity to get to know him a little better as a teenager.

I'm a teacher now myself, and every so often I've thought back to my time in his class. He was a wonderful person, and I'm so sorry to hear about his passing. Sending love to his whole family. Rest in peace, Mr. Harshman.

My deepest condolences to Milly, Chris, Asia, Jamie, Tim and the entire Harshman family. When I first became a French teacher, James's class was the first one I walked into. You could say, James helped me start my career. James, was so welcoming and gave me the confidence I needed at that time. Over time, James and I became good friends. I will miss his friendship and his caring nature. I promise to have a good joke for you when we meet again, so I can hear that hearty laugh of yours.
    R.I.P James
